ACORN NATURALISTS MAKES FRONT PAGE NEWS! (Orange County Register, March 26, 2010). Acorn Naturalists was featured on the front page of the daily Orange County Register for their water-wise garden and California Native Plant gardens located at their Center for Science and Environmental Ediucation in Old Town Tustin, CA. The article was on water conservation, highlighting several homeowners who were planting natives. Because many years ago Acorn Naturalists owner Jennifer Rigby decided to landscape Acorn Naturalists grounds using 100% California Natives, she was interviewed and featured in this article. ACORN NATURALISTS RECEIVES TUSTIN PRESERVATION CONSERVANCY AWARD (May 2007): In competition with other buildings, Acorn Naturalists received the top award for new construction that best reflects the character and integrity of the Old Town area. Years in the planning, the Acorn building was designed and built to replicate early American Craftsman architectural style. ACORN NATURALISTS' RECEIVES ENVIRONMENTAL BUSINESS OF THE YEAR AWARD
(MAY 2005): In recognition of the company's core values of integrity and innovation, as reflected in the design and operation of its Center for Science and Environmental Education, the Center received 2005 Environmental Business of the Year Award in 2005 from the League of Conservation Voters. These programs include Acorn Naturalists innovative stormwater diversion practices, drought-tolerant native landscaping, energy-efficient construction and in-house recycling program. FOUNDERS OF ACORN NATURALISTS RECEIVE HOWARD BELL AWARD (May 2005): At the 2005 annual conference of Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (AEOE), Jennifer and Martin Rigby, cofounders of Acorn Naturalists, received the respected Howard Bell Award for outstanding achievements and contributions in the field of outdoor and environmental education.
