The series, A Child's Place in the Environment as developed by the Lake County Office of Education and the California Department of Education. This comprehensive series of six elementary curriculum guides focuses on four themes (valuing the environment, systems and interactions, patterns of change, and conservation). These themes are introduced through science and social science activities, children’s literature, and a study of environmental role models. Each binder offers approximately 20 sequential lessons and a poster to augment the lessons, and although developed for California, this curriculum can be adapted to fit any region.
