Tracking Stencils and Activity Guides
Based on the study of tracks in the wild, these life-size mylar stencils are laser-cut to produce a realistic track outline. Each tracking stencil set includes one action stencil for creating common movement patterns and two single stencils representing front and hind feet (except for bird species which come with one action stencil and one track stencil). Stencils can be flipped over to create both right and left-sided prints. Each set also contains a natural history reference sheet that describes the animal’s ecological status, habitat, body shape, behavior, and diet along with illustrations of one or more track patterns. Also included are suggestions for classroom and group activities. Use these stencil sets to create life-size track scenes to illustrate predator/prey relationships or identify gaits and patterns. Create customized local field guides, augment journals, develop tracking art projects, use for embossing, or making life-size animal track matching games. Packaged in a reusable clear bag, these stencils can be traced or filled in with regular or colored pencils, paints, watercolor pencils, charcoals, or chalk.

Track and Animal Rubber Stamps
These high quality 2-1/2 inch square rubber stamps represent a wide array of mainly north American insect, bird and mammal species. Many of these images are used in the well known Ampersand Press games such as Into the Forest, Krill, The Bug Game, Good Heavens!, The Garden Game, Oh Wilderness! and Predator. Use to expand or customize your own versions of these popular games or supplement your lessons on ecosystems, develop creative art projects, or to enhance animal information available in your classroom or nature center. Each anatomically accurate stamp features a colorful label and is mounted on a sturdy, easy-to-grip, wooden base.

Bird and Mammal Calls
The calls we offer are the finest available, but don’t expect to imitate the animal perfectly the first time you try. The best way to learn is to head into the field and start practicing, listening to tapes or mimicking the birds themselves. Note: although the directions in these calls often refer to hunting, these calls are also effective at bringing birds and mammals closer for photography or observation purposes.

Scat Replicas (flexible vinyl positives).
Collected in the field by and available exclusively from Acorn Naturalists, these life-size soft-plastic scat replicas offer superior detail, accurate texture, and natural appearance. They are perfect for studying food preferences or creating "who was here" tracking scenarios. Use to seed trails around a school, nature center, or camp and have children discover them and interpret the diet and behavior of different animals. In addition, for many species, we now also offer different diet samples that show seasonal variation within species caused by food availability. Natural colors give these scat replicas a realistic look, while the use of tough phthalate-free polymers produces unique teaching tools that will last for years. Clean occasionally with any liquid diswashing soap.
