  Tracking Techniques and Activities
This section features a wide selection of instructional cassettes, activity books, videos and guides for learning the art and science of tracking. Includes resources appropriate for all ages and ability levels.

  Activity Books for Young Trackers
Children are naturally interested in following the "clues" left by animals, both in the field and on the printed page. Included in this section are books that will both entertain and inspire young children to learn more about tracking.

  Tracking Stencils
TRACKING STENCILS. Based on real tracks, these life-size mylar stencils are precision-cut to produce a perfect track outline. Each tracking stencil set includes one action stencil for creating common movement patterns and two single stencils representing front and hind feet (except for bird species which come with an action stencil and one track stencil). Stencils can be flipped over to create both right and left-sided prints. Each set also contains a natural history reference sheet that describes the animal’s ecological status, habitat, body shape, behavior, and diet along with illustrations of one or more track patterns. Also included are suggestions for classroom and group activities. Use these stencil sets to create life-size track scenes to help illustrate predator/prey relationships or identify gaits and patterns. Create customized field guides, augment journals or art projects, use for embossing, creating track positives or making life-size animal track matching games. Packaged in a reusable clear bag, these stencils work well with regular or colored pencils, paints, watercolor pencils, charcoals and chalk.

  Bird and Mammal Calls
Animal calls are very useful tools for naturalists, outdoor educators, teachers and students interested in studying animal behavior, taking dramatic, close-up photographs, or simply surveying for the presence of different species. The calls we offer are the finest available, but don’t expect to imitate the animal perfectly the first time you try. The best way to learn is to head into field and start practicing, and if you know someone who an expert, invite them along! Hours of fun in the field or your backyard, neighbors willing...
