Students naturally have an interest in exploring aquatic life - harnessing this energy can teach students about the importance of clean water as well as the biological diversity that aquatic environments support. Included in this section are activities and resources for engaging students in water-related adventures.

  Teaching about Water Resources
Included in this section are activity guides, curricula, reference books and multimedia resources geared toward educating about the value of water. From relatively simple concepts such as source water protection to the complex ones involving the politics of water transfers, this section has water education resources for all age levels.

Aquatic Nets, Field Sampling Equipment, Containers
Full line of aquatic nets, invertebrate sampling equipment (including Hester-Dendy samplers), field observation containers, small aquaria, collecting jars and vials.

  Microscopes, Magnifiers and Binoculars
This section includes a comprehensive selection of optical equipment for studying aquatic life, from microscopes for studying pondlife to hand lenses for viewing macroscopic insects and binoculars for observing wetland birds.

Wetland, Pond and Stream Activities and Kits
Ponds and streams have always captivated the young, from finding tadpoles to wading along the shore looking for frogs and turtles. In this section we offer a wide array of activity books, DVDs, pond and wetland study kits and reference books for individuals interested in learning more about aquatic life.

Exploring Rivers - Activities, References and DVDs
Rivers have been used for centuries for drinking water, transportation and recreation. More recently, they have also been appreciated for their open space and environmental value. This section contains unique resources for exploring the life, lore and future protection of river ecosystems.

  Discovering Watersheds and Estuaries
Water departments have long realized the value of protecting watersheds, but increasingly they are recognized for their value in providing open space and wildlife habitat. In this section, we offer a range of activity books, kits, videos and other resources for teaching children and adults about their local watersheds, from the mountain sources to the estuaries by the sea.

  Early Childhood Water Education Series
This series introduces young children in grades K-1 to water as it appears in various states. Each book in the series includes beautiful photographs, captions, extended glossary definitions, and notes to teachers and parents along with internet links. These basic, introductory guides capitalize on children’s natural curiosity about and affinity for water.

Fish Printing Kits, Replicas and Supplies
Fish printing art or Gyotaku combines science (fish diversity, anatomy, ecology), art (create colorful, framed displays), math (measure and count fins, proportional size, count fin rays), reading (use with fish stories) and creative writing (write fact or fiction about the fish). Everyone can have fun while creating beautiful, unique artistic prints. We now offer over 20 different species of flexible vinyl fish that last for years.
