Phosphate is an important indicator of pollution, an excess of which causes rapid growth of algae. When the algae dies, oxygen is used in decomposition which negatively affects all aquatic life. This LaMotte kit uses ascorbic acid with Octet color comparator (included) to determine phosphate concentrations (0-2.0 ppm range). The kit provides enough materials for 50 tests. A refill is also available for this kit (see Related Products, below).
