Lily Stem (cross-section) Prepared Microscope Slide
Shows the vascular bundles (sieve tubes) found in monocot plants such as the lily. Stem cross-section is stained for easy identification of the various cellular components. Vascular tissues can be seen scattered throughout the interior of the stem cross-section which differs from the pattern seen in dicots (compare with basswood stem cross-section).
