Math In Nature: Fibonacci Numbers Discovery Kit (Supplemental Male Pine Cones)

Both the individual and class Fibonacci kits contain a magnifying box containing small male pine cones. The male cones we offer are netted in the spring as they fall from the tree, giving them a crisp, fresh appearance. They are then baked for one hour to eliminate any unwanted insect infestations and placed in a lucite magnifying box for easy storage and viewing. One of these is included in both the individual and class kit, but many teachers have requested additional ones. Recommended for ages 8 and up, with adult supervision.
