The American kestrel does not excavate trees, but depends on finding existing cavities for nesting. Since these are often in short supply, houses like these can improve kestrel nesting success. Designed within these sustainable pine houses is an interior perch — young kestrels like to peer out to see when their next meal is coming. The rough, unpainted wood surface allows the birds to grip and crawl inside as they would in natural settings. The kestrel house includes pine shavings for nesting material. All of our birdhouses incorporate ventilation, drainage, and easy cleaning features.
