Soil Horizons Display
This soil horizon display depicts soil columns with plants and decomposers as they could be found in vertical strata of soil. Starting with a preserved plant (complete with roots) and a dried mushroom, this display depicts six layers often found in a typical soil cross-section: organic, topsoil, eluvation, subsoil, regolith, and bedrock. Students can study this soil science display and then explore local soil profiles in gardens or areas with exposed soil such as along the sides of trails. This meticulously prepared glass-topped soil horizons display is perfect for earth science lessons. Soil horizons display measures 12" x 16".
