Fish Printing

Fish printing, or Gyotaku, is a perfect hands-on activity for teaching about science (fish diversity, anatomy, ecology), art (create colorful, framed displays), math (measure and count fins, proportional size, count fin rays), reading (use with fish stories) and creative writing. Each fish replica is relatively soft and thus prints just like a real fish would, but without the odor and mess. When finished, replicas can be easily cleaned with soapy water. We also offer washable block inks, ink rollers, and rice paper to enhance your fish printing activities. In this section you can find both freshwater fish printing replicas such as bass, bluegill, carp, perch, pike, salmon, sunfish, trout and walleye as well as salt water fish replicas including flounder, grouper, perch, salmon, skate, tuna and hogfish. Discounted collections of both freshwater fish replicas and saltwater fish models are available. Fish printing provides hands-on, inquiry-oriented activities for ages 6-adult.
