Triops Packet

Found in nature in ephemeral desert ponds, these amazing relics from the past spring to life literally overnight with the first drop of water. Add freshwater and within 24 to 48 hours, these animals hatch and rapidly grow to 1½" long, living for 2 to 3 months before laying eggs and completing their life cycle. The eggs we offer are laboratory-raised and not removed from fragile vernal pool habitats. This is the basic starter kit for growing Triops; if you already have a suitable growing container, this is a good way to get started raising these fascinating creatures. The packet includes 20 to 30 eggs, food, and instructions. Triop observations are recommended for ages 8 and up.
