Tree Song

A beautifully illustrated story about the majestic Sitka spruce, its life history, its role as wildlife habitat, and its growth in the Pacific Northwest rainforest. It is also a fable about people and their relationship to the Sitka spruce—those of the First Nations who listened to the song of the spruce, the Europeans who felled the spruce to fuel industrialization, and the cello maker who created an instrument from a fallen spruce and revived the song of the forest.
