Gardening
Gardens offer creative learning environments for hands-on study of plants and animals. Schools can create a children's garden, even where school grounds are paved one can still construct a raised bed garden. Research has shown that gardens enhance inquiry learning, improve social interactions, and provide outdoor exercise. Gardens also give children an appreciation for and enjoyment of healthy, locally produced food. Acorn Naturalists offers an array of inquiry-oriented gardening resources for fun, hands-on learning.
