Environmental Interpretation Guides
Outdoor interpreters help individuals understand the significance of natural and historical heritage sites much in the same way that classroom teachers help students understand science, art, the humanities, and math. The difference is that interpreters have a shorter time in which to impart their message, often to informal audiences with a range of backgrounds. This presents challenges that can be overcome by experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm. The interpretive resources we offer are designed to improve an individuals ability to master the art of effective interpretation which involves defining the message you want to express, the audience you want to impart that message to, and then bringing in the tools techniques that will help the group relate to, assimilate, and act upon your message.
